Knoppys Digital provides web design and web development services throughout Cheshire and Shropshire and when we heard of a local Dad who wanted to bring back the Chirk Santa parade, we couldn’t wait to be involved.
Every year the Chirk Santa parade brings Christmas cheer to children and adults alike as it marks the beginning of the festive season. This year however locals were disappointed to hear the parade had been cancelled.
Matthew Fleet, a young Dad from Chirk, heard of the cancellation and pledged to reinstate the parade – agreeing to dress as Santa himself to bring festive cheer to the local community.
“I don’t think it’s fair that a few people should be able to spoil this event for young children – so I said I would happily dress up as Santa to put a smile on the faces of children in Chirk.”
Matthew, who has become a local celebrity after videos of his ability to perform amazingly accurate trick-shots with household objects went viral, posted appeals via his Facebook page for volunteers and donations to bring his festive vision to reality.
He received offers from a range of local businesses and organisations including Knoppys Digital. We were delighted to be involved in bringing the Santa parade back to Chirk and made a donation of 1400 Christmas lights to decorate Santa’s float.
Alex Knopp, business owner, commented “The whole process has really brought the community together and as a local business we felt proud to be involved. As a father myself I know how happy the parade makes my children and if I’m truly honest, the Santa parade always brings a smile to my face too.”
To ensure the lights would be bright and festive on the night we collaborated with PJ Landscaping of Gobowen who donated a generator for the float.
